Enable Bitcoin Lightning payments in Contact Form 7 with Coinsnap
With Contact Form 7, website owners can create forms with different fields such as name, email, subject, message, etc. and embed them in their pages or posts. It is highly customizable and allows users to change the look and feel of their contact forms.
With the Coinsnap for Content Form 7-plugin you can immediately accept Bitcoin Lightning payments on your site. You don’t need your own Lightning node or any other technical requirements.

Installasjon
1. Install the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin from the WordPress directory
The Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin can be searched and installed in the WordPress plugin directory.
In your WordPress instance, go to the Plugins > “Add New Plugin” section.
In the search, enter “Coinsnap for Contact Form 7”, and the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin will be displayed.
Then click “Install”.
After successful installation, click “Activate”. Now you are ready to set up the plugin (see below).
1.1. Install the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin from Github
If you don’t want to install our plugin from WordPress, you can alternatively download the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin from the Coinsnap Github page and install it via the “Upload Plugin” function:
Navigate to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin and select the zip-archive you’ve downloaded from Github.
Click “Install Now” and the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin will be installed in WordPress.
After you have successfully installed the plugin, activate it, and you can proceed with the set-up of your Coinsnap plugin, just as described below.
2. Configure the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin
After the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7 plugin is installed and activated, a notice appears that the plugin still needs to be configured.
To do this, you need a Coinsnap account first.
2.1 Create your Coinsnap account
Open your Coinsnap account at https://app.coinsnap.io/register by simply entering your email address and a password of your choice.
If you are using a Lightning Wallet with Lightning Login, then you can also open a Coinsnap account with it.
2.2. Confirm your email address
You will receive an email to the submitted email address with a confirmation link, which you have to confirm. If you do not find the email, please check your spam folder.
Then, please log in to the Coinsnap backend with the appropriate credentials.
2.3. Connect your website with Coinsnap
After you signed up, you will be asked to provide two pieces of information:
In the “Website Name” field, enter the name of your site or online store that you want customers to see when they check out.
In the “Lightning Address” field, enter the Lightning address to which your Bitcoin Lightning transactions should be forwarded. A Lightning address is similar to an e-mail address, it looks like tabletree48@mylightningwallet.io. Lightning payments are forwarded and credited to this Lightning address.
If you don’t have a Lightning address yet, set up a Lightning wallet that will provide you with a Lightning address.

3. Connect the Coinsnap for Contact Form 7-plugin with your Coinsnap account
To make it all work, you need to connect your plugin with your Coinsnap account. Here is how you do that:
3.1. Coinsnap for Contact Form 7 Settings
- Navigate to Contact > add new. Below the “Enter title here” field select the “Coinsnap” tab on the left.
- Click “Enable Coinsnap on his form”.
- Choose your preferred currency.
- Enter the “Store ID”, and your “API Key” (you will find those in your Coinsnap account).
- If you like, enter the URL of your success page where you can congratulate your customers for buying from you!
- Click “Save”
3.2. Create your first Contact Form 7 form with Coinsnap Bitcoin Lightning payment
Just follow the instructions under the fields you just filled out and create your first form with Bitcoin Lightning payment.
4. Test payment
4.1. Test payment in Contact Form 7
If you want to see how Bitcoin Lightning payment works in a Contact Form 7 form, just go to our demo store and make a donation, a download, a purchase or a booking!
As soon as you click on “buy now”, you will see the Bitcoin Lightning payment page:
4.2. Bitcoin Lightning payment page
This payment page shows your customer the amount payable in SATS. Click on “view Details” for further information.
Then you see the QR code. Hold your wallet above it and the amount of SATS displayed above will be transferred from your wallet to the Coinsnap wallet as soon as you click the button “pay”.
