I’m very glad I found this forum plugin. Excellent support, great themes/layouts to choose from, easy to use and install, all the features I needed (charge users subscription fees, private sections, export the data, etc). And they have a free trial.

It’s very simple and easy to use. However, I don’t like the layout or colors offered. It’s so simple that you can’t really customize it that well. I would recommend just because it’s easy to use & navigate through but I wish it didn’t look so myspace-ish.

I love the ethic of bbPress: open source, built the WordPress way, etc. Unfortunately, several limitations of the platform made it difficult for our users. Chief among these was the limited notification options and the inability to continue a conversation by replying by email to the notification email. Website Toolbox is a robust forum solution. It looks very much like the popular, open source Discourse platform–I’m convinced its a fork. However, Website Toolbox offers a hosted, supported solution for website owners who aren’t interested in setting up their own forum servers. As noted elsewhere in these reviews and on the plugin page, this is not a free service. However, the support is strong and the product works very well. The feature list on their site is accurate. A few comments from our experience: This will sync your WordPress logins to the forum site, BUT this is a one-way transfer of information. That is, all of your WordPress users will be given a forum account (though you can control which user types receive an account). Users log in to the forum with the same credentials as to the WordPress site, and if the plugin is installed they can log in once for access to both. HOWEVER, users who log in directly to the forum can change their password with Website Toolbox–and then have two passwords, one for the forum and one for the WordPress site. This can be fixed by hiding the Website Toolbox login and using only the WordPress login. If you’ve created custom user profile fields in WordPress, those will not be synced to the forum.

These guys provide very prompt and helpful service to any and all questions you ask of them. They are open and flexible to new suggestions too, I was quite surprised. Better than the communications you get from many developers.

It make adding a forum easier than any of the default wordpress plugins

I intend to use their great range API’s and I have full confidence things will function. Minor ironing bugs were solved within 24 hours either via emails or a overseas calls to my mobile. Team is always available for further more involved discussions regarding extended functionality. Support and commitment is unparalleled (I have 40 years of software experience).
